Every person trying to lose weight and change their lifestyle needs friends and family members who are supportive. I am so lucky to have amazing friends in my life who are supportive of my life style choices. I have had three dinner dates with girlfriends this week. Each of them have been super supportive of my request to eat in and/or eat healthy.
Last night, my friend made tomato soup, grilled cheese, and salad. This friend and I have been on a weight loss program together before and we tend to eat healthy together. She loves that I can come over and eat healthy with her, and I love the fact she is willing. On this journey you need friends who support you and encourage you to make good choices.
Likewise, I had dinner with another friend who strives to eat healthy food daily (super amazing). She is new to cooking, but is willing to try new and exciting recipes. Tonight we had broccoli and cheese soup. It was delicious!!! And on top of that, she was so thoughtful and adapted the recipe to fit my health needs. I feel like I could learn a lot from her life style choices. Her wisdom tonight really hit home..."dieting is all about give and take....choose the fries or the beer...or the dessert over wine."
Friends are a huge part of my life. They are like family. I feel very supported. I know this life style isn't going to be easy, but with friends like mine I can still have a social dinner without feeling guilty.
Stay tuned...weight day tomorrow!!! Eeeekkkk!!!

"D" day vs. "L" day
Diet vs. Life style
I kept hearing that dieting works to lose weight but a life style change lets you lose weight and kept it off. I feel like I have been attempting a life style change for years, but I kept ending up just dieting. That stops now!
I started my weight loss journey years ago. I have been through eight trainers. (Am I really that bad?) I have tried multiple diet plans, programs, and nutritionists. I have lost weight but I couldn't keep it off. So here I am again...still overweight. (Whine, Whine, Whine, does any one have some cheese to go with my wine :)
This blog is about inspiration, motivation, and determination. I am ready to get started with a new life style. I will be writing to you all about my journey. Along the way, I hope to serve up some tasty recipes, funny gym commentary, and the highs and lows of calorie counting.
Day 1 of the rest of my life...
Step 1 - Continue calorie counting on my fitness pal
Step 2 - Go to the gym 4 times a week
Step 3 - Drag my gym buddy to come with me to the gym 4 times a week
Step 4 - Listen to Trainer # 8 (Scott...let's see how long he stays)
